While Twitter has long handled multiple log-ins within a single app seamlessly, and Facebook’s Business Manager supports advertiser profiles with ease, Instagram’s for social media marketers has always been a clunky, “log-in log-out” experience.
Those times may finally be changing.
Back in November, Instagram multiple account support began rolling out to limited Android users (just in time for the busy holiday shopping season); it appears that, just today, the feature also started being enabled for select iOS users as well.
There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for the iOS Instagram multiple account support roll-out—though Android users needed to sign up for Instagram’s beta community to gain access, the same doesn’t appear to be true for Apple users. Engadget’s Mat Smith received multi-profile support on iOS today, without a request, for instance.
I tried closing out of Instagram to see if I would get the option for multiple account support, but nothing as of yet.
The major benefactor of multi-account support would be anyone working in the social media marketing space, as these people would likely have their own personal Instagram accounts, plus those of clients & possibly their own agency close at hand.
There is no official word yet from Instagram on this rolling out as a feature for everyone.
