According to the Chicago Tribune yesterday, Eminem, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings of Leon are the rumored headliners at this year’s Lollapalooza Music Fest.
Deja-vu? Kind of.
As you may recall, Eminem headlined Lollapalooza back in 2011, following the release of “Relapse” & “Recovery”. (I was there, and from what I can recall– it was a great show). Skrillex has performed at Lolla in 2011 & last year with his side project, “Dog Blood”. Arctic Monkeys were at the 2011 show as well, though not as a headlining act. Kings of Leon have also appeared at Lollapalooza, headlining the show in 2009.
It seems like 2011 is repeating itself. Though, for some of us, that may not necessarily be a bad thing.
The official lineup for the 10th Anniversary of Lollapalooza in Chicago won’t be announced until next week, as tickets go on sale Tuesday. If you’re interested in going, pick them up quickly, as the 300k capacity should sell out again this year. (Hint: even if you’re on the fence, and you’ve got some spare cash next week, buy ’em anyway. You’ll have no problem selling them if you decide not to go).
We’ll have the official lineup 0n this site once released. Myself, I will definitely be in attendance to see Em (and, hopefully some other notable acts will be added), but I’m just as, if not more, excited to see Kendrick at Pitchfork this Summer. Still, if history proves anything, I won’t be sleeping on Lollapalooza 2014.
