Think you’ve heard it all? How about a Steve Jobs and Bill Gates musical comedy—hear that one yet?
Welp, it’s true; the Jobs/Gates musical is heading to Broadway, with performances starting on April 21st (previews begin the end of March).
The idea isn’t nearly as absurd as it may sound: a production of the Steve Jobs and Bill Gates comedy—dubbed, appropriately, Nerds—was, according to Rolling Stone, first presented by the Philadelphia Theater Company back in 2005, nabbing local Barrymore Awards for Outstanding New Play & Outstanding Original Music in the process.
Nerds chronicles the Apple & Microsoft founders’ rise in the world of tech, and, of course, the pairs competition with each other along the way.
Not surprising for a play about Gates & Jobs, Nerds on Broadway will feature on-stage holograms and a downloadable app so the audience can interact with both the stage and each other.
Nerds was penned by Robot Chicken alums Jordan Allen-Dutton & Erik Weiner, with the music written by Hal Goldberg. The Broadway production of the Steve Jobs and Bill Gates musical will be directed Casey Hushion, who previously worked on Elf and Aladdin.
Tickets for Nerds are on sale now, and can be purchased here.
