Although the rookie drama Halt and Catch Fire didn’t have quite the numbers that the network might have hoped for, AMC announced yesterday that the show will be renewed for a second season.
The period-drama, set in Texas in the 1980’s, which stars Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies), did rank well with an “upscale-skewing audience”, according to EW, which AMC has grown sort of accustomed to via Mad Men.
Being on AMC was also likely a blessing for ‘HaCF’, as the network does have recent history of being a bit more patient with developing its shows. As previously reported here, Halt and Catch Fire became the first show to debut its series premiere on Tumbler– a full week before the initial episode aired.
While there is no word yet on when the show will return for its second season, I expect we’ll hear more this Winter.
