Season 3 of Fargo Won’t Arrive Until 2017

With the surprisingly amazing second year of the FX hit just wrapped, all eyes are looking forward to season 3 of Fargo.

Unfortunately, while the wait will be the same, 2016 won’t have us revisiting the Coen Brothers’ spin-off—season 3 of Fargo won’t debut until Spring of 2017.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter and several other publications in a conference call this morning, Fargo EP Noah Hawley confirmed the Spring 2017 approximate air date for season tres. As noted, this isn’t really a deviation of the show’s timeline—the first season debuted in Spring of 2014, while the impeccable (and, honestly, better) season 2 kicked off back in October.

Also as in the first two seasons, Fargo season 3 will feature an entirely new cast; and, according to Hawley, will be set in 2010. Unlike season 2—which was teed-up in the first year—Hawley said there were no clues in year two as to what the subject will be.

Season one of Fargo, starring Billy Bob Thornton & Allison Tolman, scored three Emmy wins, while season two has already earned itself an equal number of Golden Globe noms last week.
