Unless you live in Chicago, Winter will be soon coming to an end; the showers & May flowers of the Springtime looms near. After filling the coldest months with some new & returning favorites, it’s time to take a look ahead to see what Spring 2014 TV will bring us.
There are three big shows I am personally looking forward to premiering this Spring; starting with, of course, the first half of the final season of ‘Mad Men’. As previously reported on this site, the 7th & final season of ‘Mad Men’ will return on April 13th, while the second seven episodes will air around the same time period in 2015.
Nearly as anticipated for me is the return of ‘Game of Thrones’ for season 4. Showrunner David Benioff has been quoted as saying that this season will be “brutal”; given the whole, you know, Red Wedding thing, I don’t doubt that in the least. For those of us who have not read the books, we’ll just have to wait & see what George RR Martin has in store for us. ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 kicks off on April 6th, 2014.
The surprising Netflix-original hit ‘Orange is the New Black’ is also expected to return to the subscription service in June; while the show was predicted for earlier in Spring (because of a quick production turnaround), the series will find us back in Litchfield Federal Pen a bit later than previously anticipated. Details on this season are being kept fairly hush-hush, although I have heard that Laura Prepon’s Alex will have a slightly reduced role.
