Spring 2015 TV Schedule: Winter Is Coming (Just Not for Us)

After another brutal Winter (though, not nearly as bad for us in Chicago as it was for our friends in Boston), warmer weather is finally upon us; Spring is in the air. And, for us television addicts, the Spring 2015 TV schedule is chock-full of reasons for us not to go outside and enjoy it.

First up: the final episodes of the seventh & final season of Mad Men, which debuts April 5th. After announcing the show would be going the Breaking Bad-route last year and splitting the final year into two, Mad Men delivered what, IMO, may have been their finest episode to date last May. When we last left the world of Sterling Cooper, Don & Megan had called it quits, Roger Sterling took charge, and Bertram Cooper danced off into that good night. While AMC is promoting a season 7 part 2 trailer on their website, it’s really just a recap of seasons 1-6 — though, if you’re interested, it can be viewed here.

The following Sunday, perennial fan-favorite Game of Thrones returns to HBO. Season 5 (like, well, every season) will be a bloody mess — more so than even in the books, according to author George R.R. Martin. In fact, this season (and subsequent years) may just speed well ahead of the books themselves, given Martin’s, err, lackadaisical  writing schedule. Regardless, GoT always entertains (and, besides, I haven’t read the books anyway). Check out the video below for a sneak-peek at season 5.

Also worth noting: David Letterman’s final episode as host of The Late Show airs on Wednesday, May 20th….the final episode of Mad Men airs at 9pm on 5/17….the HBO documentary on Kurt Cobain premieres on Monday, May 4th.

For the rest of the Spring 2015 TV schedule, see below. Check back periodically for updates as more information becomes available.
